Cruises, planned by someone who knows the ships
Caribbean, Alaska & European river cruises planned by me, Anne Conrad of Captain’s Log Travel in Vermilion, Ohio — certified with major cruise lines, no service fee
A cruise is easy to book and surprisingly easy to book wrong — the wrong ship for your pace, the wrong cabin for the itinerary, the wrong sailing for the season. My job is to get those calls right before you sail.
I’m Anne Conrad, owner of Captain’s Log Travel in Vermilion, Ohio. I work with all the major cruise lines, hold specialist certifications from the lines I book most, and plan every client’s sailing the way I plan my own. And there is no service fee for my help.
Ocean cruises
The Caribbean
The Caribbean is where most of my clients sail first — and return to. Eastern, Western, and Southern itineraries each have a different feel, and the ship matters as much as the ports: a large resort-style ship for families and groups, a smaller, quieter ship when the point is to unwind.
Alaska
Alaska is the sailing where the details pay off most — which side of the ship your cabin is on, whether the itinerary includes glacier viewing, and when in the season you go. I hold specialist training with the lines that sail there, including Princess Cruises and Holland America Line, and I’ll steer you to the sailing that fits what you want to see.
I also plan ocean cruises to Canada and New England, Mexico, and beyond — if it sails, ask me about it.
River cruises
Travel at walking pace
River cruising is travel at walking pace: you dock in the center of town, step off, and explore. Europe’s rivers — the Danube, the Rhine, and beyond — are the classic routes, pairing historic cities with small towns no ocean ship can reach.
I’m a certified Viking Expert and an AmaWaterways Specialist, so I can talk you through the real differences between river lines — what’s included, how the staterooms compare, and which itinerary suits the way you like to travel — rather than handing you a brochure.
Christmas market cruises
Sail from market to market
Each winter, Europe’s Christmas markets turn river cruising into something special: sail from town to town, spend your days among the market stalls, and come back to a warm ship in the evening. These sailings are seasonal, the best cabins go early, and planning ahead matters — if a Christmas market cruise is on your list, let’s start the conversation well before the season.
